Animated movies are increasingly appealing not only to kids, but to adults as well. Many recent animated films cater to entertaining parents, who watch these movies along with their children. Old school animated films will always be the most magical, since those beautiful films were part of our childhood. Thankfully, these films have kept the magic and essence of animation alive. With BookMyShow turning 10 years old this week, we decided to handpick 10 of the best animated films of the past decade. Let us know if we missed any, in the comments below.

Kung Fu Panda (2008)
One of the most badass animated films out there, Dreamworks released the third installment last year. The series about an unusual accidental hero seems to be growing from strength to strength.

Inside Out (2015)
A literal emotional ride, the coming-of-age film by Disney is set in the mind of a young girl. Her five personified emotions – Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust – try to lead her through life as she adjusts to her new surroundings.

Zootopia (2016)
Another Disney masterpiece, it won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film. It is about the unlikely partnership between a rabbit police officer and a red fox con artist, as they uncover a conspiracy involving the disappearance of savage predator inhabitants of a mammalian metropolis.

Frozen (2013)
Considered as the best Disney animated feature film since the studio's renaissance era, the film ranks as the highest-grossing animated film of all time. It is the story of a fearless princess on a journey alongside a rugged iceman, his loyal pet reindeer, and a naive snowman. She sets off to find her estranged sister, whose icy powers have inadvertently trapped the kingdom in eternal winter.

Tangled (2010)
Another fairytale, it is a modern twist to the age-old tale of Rapunzel. It spent six years in production at a cost that has been estimated at 260 million USD, which makes it the most expensive animated film ever made.

How to Train Your Dragon (2010)
With the third edition on the way in 2019, the film's sequel was also very highly acclaimed. The film takes place in a mythical Viking world, where a Viking teenager named Hiccup aspires to follow his tribe's tradition of becoming a dragon slayer.

Wall-E (2008)
This thought-provoking film is different in many ways. It follows a trash compactor robot in a deserted world, left to clean a largely abandoned city.

Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)
A rare animation venture by director Wes Anderson, the film is about a fox who steals food from three wealthy farmers, who now attempt to kill him. This classic Roald Dahl story comes to life in the form of stop-motion.

Finding Dory (2016)
While we preferred the original Finding Nemo back in 2003, we were delighted to see our favorite fish make a return to the screen after 13 years.

The Lego Movie (2014)
Surprisingly hilarious, this unique film was highly acclaimed. The Lego Batman Movie (2017) was also genius and we look forward to The Lego Ninjago Movie (2017) as well.
