10 Movies That Have Accidentally Revealed Spoilers

No one likes spoilers (hence the name). TV series like Game of Thrones and Westworld have reinforced the dislike for spoilers. Production houses are now averse to letting out surprises (keeping Marvel trailers aside) regarding big-budget movies. Some popular movies are given code names and even the cast is kept in the dark so that no news is leaked to the press. Sometimes, production houses can't decide between giving enough information for a teaser and more than the required amount of information. For example, the makers of Speed accidentally revealed the whole suspense in the trailer itself. But this isn't the first time such a thing has happened. Here are ten more instances, where spoilers were accidentally revealed, much to the dismay of production houses and the audience.

Spoilers - BookMyShowStar Wars: The Force Awakens
Fans were ecstatic when they heard that the Star Wars saga was getting another trilogy and that this time, it would be a sequel to the original. They heaved a sigh of relief that there would be no more Jar Jar Binks. But a great many years had passed since the first movie and even the actors weren't the same as they used to be. Finn was touted as the lead in the teasers, and the toy line that came out later featured Rey holding a lightsaber. The production should have kept a better eye on the merchandise.

Rogue One – A Star Wars Story
It seems that every Star Wars movie cannot be kept completely under wraps. In an interview, Mads Mikkelson accidentally revealed that he was the father of the character played by Felicity Jones. Until that point, the teasers and trailers showed him as one of the villains, but everything changed once it was revealed that he was one of the good guys. It is no wonder that the production houses chose to keep the actors in the dark.

Talking about secrets, Tom Holland seems too young to keep one. While promoting Spider-man: Homecoming, he accidentally revealed that there will be two more Spider-man movies. Marvel is usually upfront about their movie lineup but for some reason, these two films were not announced. Well, the web is out of the bag now. It is no wonder Tom knows nothing about what is happening in Avengers: Infinity War.

Spoilers - BookMyShowAvengers: Infinity War (1 and 2)
Marvel is having a hard time managing its actors for these movies. The problem is not to do with the huge cast on set, but the problems that arise after they walk out. Zoe Saldana recently revealed the title of the final Avengers movie (Avengers: The Infinity Gauntlet) in an interview. Meanwhile, Mark Ruffalo accidentally revealed who dies in the final movie during the promotion of Thor: Ragnarok. Now that is the kind of spoiler no one wants to hear about.

Ender's Game
Spoiler alert, but Ender's Game, in the end, is not a game. But you didn't have to bother to watch the movie to know that. The tagline itself revealed that 'It's not a game.'. It is obvious that no one really thought the headline through, or they wouldn't have gone with something like that.

Wreck-it Ralph
Many movies use the red herring concept, where you think a particular character is a villain and in the end, you realize that the 'villain' was among the heroes. Those who watched Wreck-it Ralph saw the twist coming, rather colorfully. In a special edition coloring book, which was released prior to the movie as a part of the promotion strategy, the real villain was pointed out quite distinctly. The suspense was promptly spoiled.

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Sometimes production houses make a tactical error in their over eagerness to please the audience. People who had not read Lord of the Rings did not know of Gandalf's return. It was another one of those accidental reveals before the release of the movie.

Spoilers - BookMyShowCaptain America: Civil War
While some might argue that Gandalf's reveal was probably not accidental, the revelations in the Civil Wars were definitely so. In one of the shots, while Iron Man and Captain America fight, Bucky is briefly shown unconscious in the background. His left robotic arm is visible in that instant, revealing his huge role in the war.

The Amazing Spider-man
The idea of releasing merchandise before the release of the movie is clearly not working well. The final battle sequence of The Amazing Spider-man, which marked the first reboot of the web-slinging superhero, was revealed through its lego toys, way before the release. It left a lot of fans disappointed because there was nothing new they could look forward to in the movie. What they didn't count on was the chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Recently, while launching the new range of Star Wars merchandise, the Kylo Ren figurine revealed a major spoiler regarding the character in the upcoming film. Kylo Ren, who wore a mask for the first movie as a tribute to his grandfather, seems to be sans it. Hope there are no more spoilers before this movie is out.
