Mythology has been a major inspiration for animation movies in India. Most of the famous stories from Hindu mythology have been recreated in the form of animation movies like Mahabharata, Ramayana, Krishna and Kans, Vishnupuran or Dashavatara, etc. It is a fun way to make kids aware of Indian Mythology and also to make Indian parents let their kids watch TV. Kids love the mischievous stories of the Hindu Gods, especially from their childhood, and that has inspired movies like Bal Krishna, My Friend Ganesha, and Bal Hanuman.

Lord Hanuman is one of the most favorites for all kids. He is fun, he is powerful, can fly and most importantly the ghosts are afraid of him. Hanu-Man has been the superhero for all the kids way before Superman or Batman even came into existence. He has always been a bro for all of us. Today, his newest animated edition has been released and is called Hanuman Da' Damdaar (with the damdaar voice of Salman Khan). As we welcome our newest edition, of Hanuman Ji, let's not forget the older ones:

Bajrangbali (1976)

The oldest of all, this movie starred Late Dara Singh in the lead role. The plot was based on the mythological stories of Lord Hanuman with a little touch of humor. Dara Singh later went on to play Hanuman in the famous TV series Ramayan as well.

Hanuman (2005)

The film was based on the life of Lord Hanuman, from his childhood to the ultimate victory over evil. It shows you all the stories that your mum/grandmom have been telling you since before you were born.

Bal Hanuman Series (2006-12)

Bal Hanuman series is about Lord Hanuman's childhood and his mischevious nature that led him to lose his power till adolescence. The series later has fictitious story plots where Bal Hanuman saves the planets and the universe from demons.

Return of Hanuman (2007)

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Return of Hanuman was the next instalment of Hanuman (2005). In this edition, he was reincarnated as a human (with a tail and a huge appetite) to save a child from getting bullied.

Maruti Mera Dost (2009)

Maruti Mera Dost is another movie where Lord Hanuman takes human form to save a devotee from the bad world. However, this was a feature film, not an animation. This time it was Rameshwari who was having a bad time with her step Grand Mom and needed the help of his only friend Lord Hanuman.

Hanuman ji is just too cool to be in Kaliyug but we do not miss him because of all these movies. There are other movies based on Ramayana as well, where bhagwan Hanuman plays a very important role in saving Sita Mata from Ravana, like the National Award winning movie Mahayoddha Rama (2016).
