With the spotlight squarely on James Corden for playing the title character in Peter Rabbit, it's sometimes easy to forget there's another big co-star in it – Domhnall Gleeson. Gleeson plays the role of Mr. McGregor in Peter Rabbit. It's possible you may not recognize him, but he's a star on the rise. Here are five facts you need to know about Domhnall Gleeson.  

1. He's Irish 

If his peculiar name (pronounced 'Doh-nall' with the 'm' being silent) wasn't already a clue, this actor is Irish. He was born in Dublin and has a strong Irish accent in real life, but he can easily put on a British or American accent whenever needed on screen. 

2. He has a very impressive career 

He's been in so many big movies over the years, it's unlikely that you haven't seen him at least once before. He was in Harry Potter as Bill Weasley, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as General Hux, and in The Revenant as Captain Andrew Henry. He's worked with some of the best people in Hollywood – Angelina Jolie, Coen Brothers, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Tom Cruise. 

3. He comes from a talented family

His father, Brendan Gleeson, is a famous actor, with his most recent role being on Mr. Mercedes, a show based on Stephen King's book of the same name. His brother, Brian, recently starred in Logan Lucky. Even the members of his family who don't act – his mom and his two other brothers -have extensive knowledge of films. 

4. He's been a part of Oscar-nominated films

Although he hasn't been nominated himself, at the 2016 Oscars, Domhnall Gleeson had a role in four of the films that got nominated for the Academy Awards. The Revenant, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Brooklyn, and Ex Machina.  

5. He's been in many big movies of 2017

Domhnall had a big list of releases just last year – five to be exact. He co-starred in American Made alongside Tom Cruise and was a part of Mother!, Goodbye Christopher Robin, Crash Pad, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. His varied roles show that he isn't confined to any one genre. He'll be next seen in the horror mystery film, The Little Stranger.
