5 Reasons to Watch Spider-Man: Homecoming

2017 seems to be the year when we have witnessed a transformation in super-hero movies. Logan's decision to be R-rated made way for some of the best work by the actor. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 set a whole new bar when it came to post-credits sequences, and DC's decision to make the Wonder Woman movie was extremely well-received. Another much-awaited movie of the year is Spider-man: Homecoming, which is releasing today. As much as you think that there cannot be anything new to Spider-man, you could not be more wrong. Jon Watts has taken our friendly neighborhood hero and delivered a witty and smart coming-of-age movie, which would make you laugh out loud till the very end of the post-credits scene. If you are looking for more reasons to catch Spider-man this weekend, we have got five.

Michael Keaton's Vulture

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has long been lacking a formidable villain. The Age of Ultron lasted a couple of days, Winter Soldier turned out to be a friend, and Ben Kingsley's scary Mandarin was just a hoax (you get the drift). So it came as a shock to see Michael Keaton as the Vulture, who in 2015 was nominated for an Academy  Award for his performance in Birdman (figure out the irony). He is terribly scary as the Vulture and blends in well with his surroundings. He could literally be any guy walking down the street and that notion is scary.

Tom Holland

Tom Holland made his debut as Spider-man in Captain America: Civil War and that was the highlight of the movie. Everyone in the theatre was super excited to see him on-screen. But can that excitement last for over two hours? Yes, it can! Tom Holland is undoubtedly the best Spider-man ever. As much as we love Tobey Maguire, Tom Holland plays the teen hero better than him.

Geeks are cool

Geeks are often portrayed as the 'uncool' guys who get bullied a lot (even Tobey's Spider-man was like that) until they save the day. But things have clearly changed. There are no more bullies picking on the nerds. The Decathlon team is the coolest team ever, and they have fun parties too. Also, using about 3000 Lego pieces to build a Death Star is probably the coolest thing ever. Homecoming has a lot more in common with the other high school movies, but this makes it stand apart from them.

The Spidey-suit

We know that the Spidey-suit has some Tony Stark-style upgrades. But as there hasn't been a better Spider-man before, there has not been a better suit either. This one has it all, and it would want to make you wish you were a part of the Stark internship program. You wouldn't know all the potentials that a spidey-suit can achieve until you watch this movie.

The post-credit scene

Marvel post-credit scenes are always worth the patience and this one is too. We don't want to give anything away, but this one will surely get you laughing all the way through the exit. It probably even is the best post-credit scene ever.
