The Giver is another acclaimed dystopian young adult book that was adapted to film. The main character, Jonas, is one who has the ability to see things differently and he changes the world for something better, much like Thomas in the Maze Runner series.
The Host (2013)
Set in the world where the human race has been taken over by parasitic aliens, The Host stars the talented Saoirse Ronan, who has been nominated for an Oscar this year. Maze Runner series has an equally skilled young cast like Dylan O' Brien, Ki Hong Lee, and Kaya Scodelario that make it worth the watch.
Battle Royale (2000)
Battle Royale is a Japanese dystopian film about high schoolers who are forced to fight to the death by the Japanese government. If you enjoyed Battle Royale but thought it was a little too gory, Maze Runner: The Death Cure will be the perfect watch for you.
Never Let Me Go (2010)
Never Let Me Go is another dark film that explores a bleak alternate reality where people are cloned to become organ donors. Maze Runner series was focused on a group of teenagers face trials for a greater good, with more action.
Ender's Game (2013)
Ender's Game is about a group of clever young kids that have been selected by an organization to save the human race from killer aliens. Not only is its plot quite similar to Maze Runner series, but it also shares another great quality of having a great supporting cast that includes Harrison Ford, Ben Kinsley, and Viola Davis.
I Am Number Four (2011)
Though the main character of I Am Number Four is an alien, the film has a lot of similarities to the Maze Runner series – a sci-fi based world, thrilling action, a bit of mystery, and a charming lead actor.
