Celebrities all over the world are constantly under the media’s scrutiny. Their love-hate relationship with the paparazzi is what makes their every move transparent to the world. Also, with the public influence that these celebrities have, many times they take to social service and make sure that the world knows about them doing their bit for the society.

CRY, PETA, ADAPT, Cancer Patients Aid Association, Spastics Society of India – there’s no organization that the former Miss Asia Pacific is not associated with. She is also named as the ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Mission’s youth-based ‘Swachh Saathi’ program.
#2. Gul Panag
She practices what she preaches! Her organization Colonel Shamsher Singh Foundation fights for gender equality, addiction awareness, education, employment, and disaster management.
#3. John Abraham
One of the most philanthropic celebs in Bollywood, he is an ambassador of PETA and Habitat for Humanity. The actor is also known for his large donations to schools and hospitals.
On top of that he has his own NGO, ‘John’s Brigade’ that provides shelter to the needy.
#4. Milind Soman
You may have heard of Soman’s cause for health and fitness, especially among women. The actor has run marathons for several charitable causes and even campaigned for breast cancer awareness.
#5. Nana Patekar
The veteran actor’s Naam Foundation aims to help drought-hit farmers of Maharashtra. He has also collected large amounts of money to help support people struck by natural calamities.
#6. Nandita Das
Other than fighting for children and women rights, the actress has openly supported the Dark is Beautiful campaign to draw light upon the racism in India.
#7. Rahul Bose
Bose has been more involved in charity than anything else. His NGO, The Foundation, works towards the removal of discrimination and the actor has even given lectures for his many causes. He is the founder of an organization, Group of Groups, a parent organization of 51 charitable organizations that provide education to children in Andaman and Nicobar islands. He is also the first Indian to become Oxfam Global Ambassador in 2007.
#8. Shabana Azmi
The actress has been very vocal about her support for disaster-struck victims, slum dwellers, and victims of religious extremism. She even fights against AIDS and communalism.
She is also running various charitable institutes such as Kaifi Azmi High School for girls, Kaifi Azmi Inter College for girls, Kaifi Azmi Computer Training Center and Kaifi Azmi Sewing and Tailoring Center.
