Verdict: Not Groundbreaking, Yet Entertaining.

Baadshaho is all set to release this Friday alongside Aanand L. Rai`s Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and we are already excited to see these two films compete at the box office. A multistarrer with the likes of Ajay DevgnEmraan HashmiIleana D’cruzEsha GuptaVidyut Jamwal and Sanjay Mishra coming together, Baadshaho is going to be a thrilling cinematic experience. The winning team of Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, and Milan Luthria who earlier gave us Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, has left the audience expecting more out of this period heist action thriller.

While we wait with bated breath to experience the roller coaster ride full of twists and turns, here is a review of the film’s album which is making quite a noise. With eight songs including all the different recreated versions, composed by Tanishk BagchiAnkit TiwariAbhijit Vaghani and Komal Shayan, the album mostly consists of recreations of older numbers. Lyricist Manoj Muntashur does a decent job in making the songs drive the film’s narrative.

Mere Rashke Qamar

This is perhaps one of the most heard songs on YouTube in the recent months as people can’t stop listening to thisghazal-qawwali originally penned by Fana Buland Shehri and sung by the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Tanishk gives it his individual touch and with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s soulful voice, no doubt the song is topping chartbusters. The same song has two more versions, one sung by Tulsi Kumar and the other a remix by DJ Chetas

Socha Hai

With three versions of this retro number from the 1975 film Deewar, the musicians have gone a little overboard. However, the playful interspersing of whistle sounds and the sexy vocals by Neeti Mohan make this one apt for all our romantic occasions. Also, the retro vibe that all the versions give; rest assured that you are going to end up listening to all the 70s Bollywood songs.

Piya More

The song has been at the centre of a controversy these days, however, this has not affected its popularity in any way. Emraan Hashmi and Sunny Leone, with their steamy chemistry and sexy moves, take this item number to a different level. Neeti Mohan and Mika Singh successfully add enough spice with their sexy voices. There is now way you wouldn’t enjoy this naughty number.

Hoshiyar Rehna

This traditional Rajasthani folk number boasts of a medley of music from different instruments like flute, mandolin, percussion, guitar and so on. More of a situational number, Hoshiyar Rehna will take the audience in the deserts of Rajasthan as the ensemble cast goes about their plan for carrying out the grand heist.

To conclude, the music of the film is typical Bollywood and we would like to see how the album turns out to be in the film.
