Veteran Director Swapan Saha Makes a Stunning Comeback With Shrestha Bangali

The veteran Bengali director Swapan Saha is making his comeback after six long years with Shrestha Bangali. Saha has earlier given many superhits. The 90s era is considered as the golden phase of his career and his collaboration with actor Chiranjeet Chakraborty have always worked wonders. Bengali cinephiles are excited to watch Saha donning the director’s cap again.

Shrestha Bangali is set in Chitmahal – an enclave near the India-Bangladesh border, which was never a priority of both the countries. As the people of Chitmahal don't get any support from the government, anti-social elements started dominating them. This makes a socially committed Kesto Master raise his voice and support the people of Chitmahal. In the trailer, we also get to see the romance between Kesto's son Akash and Chandni. Chandni's father, who is a wealthy businessman, is against their relationship.

It is evident that Saha has crafted a story that falls in multiple genres and the trailer is enough to entice the audience into the theatres. But will the audience leave the theatre on a satisfying note? We will have to wait and see. The film definitely looks promising with an ensemble cast. Here, the surprising element will be Rajpal Yadav, who plays the principal character – Kesto Master. The man who has always made us laugh is gearing up to make us cry.

Riju will mark his debut as Akash. Ulka Gupta – popularly known for her role in TV show, Jhansi Ki Rani – is making her debut in the Bengali film industry. The other star cast includes Shakti KapoorBiswajit Chakraborty, Rajatabha Dutta, and Laboni Sarkar. Aanjan Bhattacharya’s music is decent and best of all is Sunny Leone’s dance number, Chaap Nishna. The video has already crossed 1 million hits on YouTube. With so much in store, we are sure that Shrestha Bangali will be a wonderful cinematic experience. Let us know your thoughts on the same and don’t forget to watch Shrestha Bangali at a theatre near you.
