In any film starring a superstar like Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan, it is tough for even the heroine to get a substantial role. But very often, the side artists make the best of whatever screen time they get. Some actors have managed to hold their own even in films with a big star cast. They have made a name for themselves and are often the casting director’s favorites. They don’t just have their names in the end credits, these actors add loads of value to the film. Here is a list of the best side artists in Bollywood.
Arshad Warsi
What would Munnabhai be without Circuit? Can’t picture it, right? Arshad has made that character his own and the franchise would seem incomplete without him. Even though he couldn’t make a mark as a solo hero, he is one of the most sought-after side artists in Bollywood. Arshad also tickled our funny bones in the Golmaal franchise.
Ronit Roy
Ronit Roy is often regarded as the Amitabh Bachchan of television but for the longest time, he had failed to make a mark in Bollywood. Vikramaditya Motwane’s Udaan changed his fortunes, though. Ronit was menacing as a father to a teenager and won several accolades for the film. He was later seen in Ugly, 2 States, and That Girl in Yellow Boots.

Swara Bhaskar
From Raanjhanaa to Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Swara has slowly established herself in Bollywood. Her next film is Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo which stars Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles. The film is slated to hit the screens on 13th November. Way to go, Swara!
Shahana Goswami
Shahana was first noticed for her performance in the 2008 hit film, Rock On. Even though the film had multiple characters, Shahana stood out. She was later seen in Ra. One and Break Ke BaadShahana hasn’t done a film in a while and we hope to see her on the big screen soon.

Namit Das
Namit Das is a well-known theatre actor and got his Bollywood break in Dharma Productions’ Wake Up Sid. He also worked in Lafangey Parindey, Ghanchakkar and the recently released, Hamari Adhuri Kahani.
