While it may not make it to the news frequently, there are many Bollywood celebrities making the world a better place, one charitable effort at a time. We know of Salman Khan‘s famous charitable trust Being Human, but there are many more prominent people in Bollywood who have put their fame to good use by working with already established charitable organizations. Here are the five Bollywood celebs and the charities they have worked with:

Sonam Kapoor – Cuddles Foundation

Sonam Kapoor is more than a style icon – she is also the brand ambassador for Cuddles Foundation, a charity that is actively involved in helping children fight cancer. She helps out in many fundraising events, from auctioning her clothes to hosting a charity gala. She has also spent time at the Tata Memorial Hospital, where she read to the sick children and distributed gifts.

John Abraham – Habitat for Humanity

John Abraham keeps his charity side alive in between acting by endorsing charity organizations more than brands. He’s a supporter of a variety of NGOs, but one of his most notable contributions is that for Habitat for Humanity, for which he has his own group, John’s Brigade, which has helped build over 50,000 homes in India.

Shahrukh Khan – Make A Wish

Shahrukh Khan has worked closely with Make-A-Wish Foundation, which helps fulfill the wishes of children suffering from life-threatening illnesses. He likes to keep his charity work guarded because of his religious beliefs, but from what we know of the star, he certainly does a lot to help people in need, whether it’s children or the victims of a natural disaster.

Aamir Khan – UNICEF

He even traveled to Bhutan last year to spread awareness about malnutrition in children, which is a major problem plaguing Asia.

Priyanka Chopra – UNICEF
