2020 strikes again! We were barely done reeling over the loss of famed choreographer Saroj Khan when we received the news of the passing of veteran star Jagdeep. Known by his stage name, Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jaffrey made his debut in Bollywood as a child star in Madhubala (1950) and went on to appear in almost 400 films. Some of his famous roles include Soorma Bhopali in Sholay (1975), Machchar in Purana Mandir (1984), and Bankelal in Andaz Apna Apna (1994). Father of actor and comedian Javed Jaffrey, Jagdeep was well-respected and adored in society and among his peers. Many celebs have exclaimed their shock and anguish at the passing of the actor at the age of 81. Here’s what they had to say:
