Dulquer Salmaan – From A Star Kid To The Wonder Boy

Dulquer Salmaan, a superstar in the making is none other than the son of another Mollywood superstar, Mammootty. He not just inherited his father’s good looks and charm but also has a huge fan following, especially among the youth. He was ranked 45th in the Times Most Desirable Men of 2014 across India. In the same year, he was also voted in as the 7th Most Desirable Man in Chennai. When Kochi Times did a poll on the same, he was voted as the Most Desirable Man in Kerala!

Before being a well-established actor and one of the best things to have happened to the Malayalam film industry in recent years, Dulquer Salmaan was Mammooty’s youngest child, the star kid.

After achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Purdue University in the United States, the SRK of Mollywood, as some like to call him, became a very successful businessman. Before venturing into acting, he owned a web portal for trading cars, which is not surprising knowing his love for cars and bikes. He is presently the director of Bangalore-based Motherhood Hospital. He also heads a dental business in Chennai. Quite multi-talented, don’t you think?

This dashing heartthrob of many made his debut with the movie Second Show and there was no looking back after this. He went on to star in mega-blockbuster Malayalam movies like Usthad Hotel, Bangalore Days, Tamil movie O Kadhal Kanmani and the bi-lingual biopic Mahanati, among others.

DQ, as Dulquer Salmaan is fondly called, is a complete charmer both on and off screen. But wait! No point drooling over this dashing and good looking boy. He is taken! Cry your hearts out all you want but he is married and very much in love with his wife, Amal Sufiya. Yes, life is unfair; get used to it.

After cracking the Southern film industries, Dulquer Salmaan made his debut in Bollywood last year with the slice-of-life drama-comedy Karwaan, alongside Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar. His next Bollywood venture is with another star kid Sonam Kapoor, titled The Zoya Factor, which releases next week.
