10 TV shows you can binge-watch this weekend

No one can escape Netflix culture, not even a country that doesn’t have Netflix. Though waiting for new episodes of our favorite TV shows might be fun, it can also be annoying. This is especially painful if you happen to like TV shows that end every episode with a cliffhanger.

Let’s face it, we all love binge-watching. As fate would have it, we’re going to have to resort to it more often when the rains make us stay indoors. If you’re not sure where to start, look no further. Here are 10 TV shows we think you can binge-watch this weekend. We’ve also listed the number of hours you need to dedicate to it, if you want to work your sleep schedule around it. One of Netflix’s newest original presentations, Sense8 follows eight people across the globe, as they discover a mental and emotional connection to each other. These "sensates" must then come to terms with their newfound identities, all while being hunted by a mysterious group. Though Sense8 gets off to a relatively slow start, things pick up, and how! The action is par excellence, and you will feel a connection to the characters as if you’re a sensate too! If you can manage to stop watching mid-episode, you’re a stronger person than us!

Orphan Black

Clones, conspiracies and chaos unite in an epic blend of sci-fi, action and drama. One of the finest recent portrayals of the greatest fictional detective of all time, Sherlock is a riveting mini-series that will leave you awestruck. A series that’s as visually stunning as it is engaging, Sherlock has another advantage as well. It’s practically made for binge-watching. The only bad thing about it? You have to wait for (at least) a couple of years for the next season.

What happens when a music mogul is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness? You can find the answer in Empire. With its smooth melodies and impeccable acting, Empire takes the concept of a binge-watchable show to a whole new level.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is absurd. In fact, it’s so absurd that it’s downright delightful. The show follows Kimmy, who has been living in a bunker for the last 15 years, because she was conned into thinking that the world has ended. The series chronicles her rescue, and her attempt to adjust to everyday life. The laugh riot that also manages to be serious and poignant, while cracking you up. What more could we ask for?
