Verdict: A light-hearted entertainer sure to make you smile.

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg offer a fun start to 2016 with their on-screen comic chemistry. Here’s why you should go watch Daddy’s Home.

With a running time of about 80 minutes, Daddy’s Home isn’t one of those movies that is needlessly dragged. A short and sweet movie with a storyline that perhaps isn’t the most fresh one, Daddy’s Home promises just the right amount of drama and humor, which makes the movie enjoyable for sure.

A kind and humble Brad (Will Ferrell), is a radio executive who is desperate for acceptance and love from his two step-kids. His efforts just about begin to show results when one fine day Dusty (Mark Wahlberg), the cool biological father of the kids, comes into picture. The rugged and aggressive personality of Dusty makes the boring and not-so-cool Brad insecure about losing his family to Dusty and he suddenly finds himself in a competitive situation. He does everything  to impress them, from spending a fortune on off-season Christmas gifts to trying and imitating Dusty’s cool tricks, only to greatly embarrass himself. The battle between the two dads is an absolute treat. Meanwhile, you see the mother Sarah (Linda Cardellini) juggling between the two. The movie does not focus enough on the mother and the children but it manages to keep you engaged till the very end.

Apart from the lead characters, the handyman, Griff (Hannibal Buress) and his boss (Thomas Haden Church) are an added bonus.

Why You Should Watch this Movie:
From the director of We’re The Millers and Horrible Bosses comes yet another movie, which is sure to not disappoint you. If a light-hearted entertainer is what you were looking for this new year, this movie is just for you.
