Another year, another Emmys! It has been a great year for television, and modern TV shows (not the Indian ones, of course) just seem to be getting better and better. TV has now become that medium to talk about real issues, bring about an intellectual revolution, and change age-old mindsets, while understanding and accepting varied opinions and cultures. We have had some amazing shows and series this year, with Game of Thrones causing an uproar worldwide, and Rami Malek making a breakthrough with Mr. Robot. Modern Family received an Emmy nomination for the seventh time in seven years. Take a look at the highlights from this year’s Emmy Awards.

To no one's surprise, Game of Thrones bagged the biggest awards of the night, including Best Direction, Best Writing, and Best TV Drama. Another big winner was The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, which bagged most of the awards in the Limited Series category. It was also a good night for Transparent, which won Best Actor (Jeffrey Tambor) and Best Direction (Jill Soloway) in the Comedy category. Soloway also gave us the hashtag of the night: #ToppleThePatriarchy. Here's a full list of the winners:
