Hollywood is an expert on selling movies through nostalgia. After all, who wouldn’t want to remember the “good old days”? And it’s even better when this done by bringing back old favorites on the big screen. From musicals to action franchises, there are lots of movies releasing in 2019 that will help you relive the past. Of course, the big budgets and the insane hype around these help too! This year, we’ve already had Mary Poppins Returns, Aladdin, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, and Toy Story 4, but there are still many more movies left to catch in theaters!

The Lion King

Jon Favreau has already proven himself with bringing The Jungle Book to life in the 2016 film and it looks like he is ready to recreate that success with The Lion King. With the cast including the biggest names in Hollywood, especially those known for singing, the film is enchanting audiences worldwide!

Dora and the Lost City of Gold

One of Nickelodeon’s  most popular characters, Dora the Explorer gets a live-action avatar with Dora and the Lost City of Gold. Starring Isabel Moner as Dora, the film also has Benicio Del Toro and Danny Trejo voicing Swiper the fox and Boots the Monkey. From the trailer, this seems like a fun adventure movie much like the Jumanji reboot.

The Addams Family 

The weirdest family is also coming to the big screen, but they will be animated. However, the voice cast is quite impressive and includes Oscar IsaacCharlize TheronChloë Grace MoretzFinn WolfhardNick KrollBette Midler, and Allison Janney.

Terminator: Dark Fate

In the film, a new model of Terminator played by Gabriel Luna is sent into the future to terminate some people. This reboot will bring back Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton in one of their most iconic roles. It will be the sequel to the second film, with the rest being considered to have taken place in an alternate timeline.

Charlie’s Angels Reboot

Another blast from the past is going to be the Charlie’s Angels reboot. The cast from the 2000 film won’t be returning, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a fantastic cast lined up. The film will be directed by Elizabeth Banks and is set to star Kristen StewartNaomi Scott, and Ella Balinska.

Rambo: Last Blood

It has been more than ten years since the last Rambo film, which came out in 2008. The Rambo franchise started back in 1982 and the character has since become Sylvester Stallone‘s most well-known role. Now, we’ll be seeing him portray Rambo for the fifth time in another action-packed sequel with Rambo: Last Blood.
