Sequels are more popular in Hollywood now than ever. While some franchises get a little too old to watch again and again, action films are always sure to be entertaining. After all, where's the time to be bored between punches, car chases, explosions, and more explosions? In 2018 as well, there is a big line-up of action movie sequels. Here are the action-packed sequels releasing in 2018 that you should watch out for:
Release Date: 2nd February, 2018
The third and the final film in the Maze Runner franchise is being released after a long wait. The epic finale will have Thomas and his group of Gladers break into what might be the deadliest maze yet.

While technically a reboot of the Tomb Raider series, you're sure to get a bit more out of it if you've seen the original with Angelina Jolie. Alicia Vikander seems to be a strong replacement and if this movie does well, we can expect to see more Tomb Raider sequels in the future. Watch the Tomb Raider trailer here:

Pacific Rim was one of the most loved sci-fi action films of 2013. The much-awaited sequel has the Star Wars actor, John Boyega, playing the role of Jake Pentecost – the son of Stacker – who was played by Idris Elba in the first film. See the Pacific Rim Uprising trailer here:

Ever since the cast for the all-female Ocean's came out, the internet has been buzzing about the film. It stars Cate Blanchett, Dakota Fanning, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Sandra Bullock, Mindy Kaling, Kim Kardashian West, Kylie Jenner, Katie Holmes, and many more – including Anna Wintour. Yes, the Jurassic series is coming back after a wait of almost three years. There isn't much known about the film yet, but we do know it'll be a summer release and we'll get to see Chris Pratt as Owen Brady once again. The sequel to the 2015 film, Sicario, won't have Denis Villeneuve as the director but another European will be taking the helm – Stefano Sollima. While Emily Blunt also won't be joining the film, Josh Brolin has said that it's more severe and much bigger. We're looking forward to seeing how the war on drugs goes forward next. Every few years, Tom Cruise trumps his most outstanding stunt with yet another riskier stunt in his latest Mission Impossible movie. An extreme stunt has already been shot at some cliffs in Norway and we can't wait to see what Ethan Hunt will do next. Henry Cavill will also be joining Cruise. The Equalizer 2
Release Date: 10th August 2018
A sequel to the 2014 film, The Equalizer, this will see the return of Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal, after the latter has proven himself to be an action star with Narcos and Kingsman: The Golden Circle. The plot isn't known yet, but it's definitely going to be fun to watch the two fight together or even face off against each other. Watch the Equalizer 2 trailer here:

Creed 2 is the eighth movie in one of the grandest boxing franchises to exist in Hollywood – Rocky. In Creed, Sylvester Stallone's Rocky mentored Michael B. Jordan's Adonis Creed. In this film, we'll see Creed go toe-to-toe with the man who killed his father. See the Creed trailer here:

With Michael Bay's exit from the franchise, we're eager to see what direction the Transformers films take next. Bumblebee will be taking us back in time to 1987 when a teenage Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) discovers the transformer who is on the run.
