Animated movies are not just for children, the good ones can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With the return of some of the most beloved franchises and some promising new films, animated movies releasing in 2019 give plenty for the fans of animation to choose from. We’ve already been treated to some big entertainers so far in 2019 including How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Toy Story 4, and The Angry Birds Movie 2. Here are some more 2019 animated movies that you should check out in cinemas –

Abominable

Originally titled Everest, this icy animated adventure comes from DreamWorks Animation and Pearl Studio. The film follows a teenage girl named Yi (Chloe Bennet), her two friends Jin (Albert Tsai) and Peng (Tenzing Norgay Trainor), and their encounters with a young Yeti who she meets on the roof of her apartment building in Shanghai. The film is set to release this September.

Weathering With You

Anime films don’t usually get a release in India, but Weathering With You will be screening in several cities, in association with Vkaao. Directed by Makoto Shinkai, the film follows a boy who runs away to Tokyo and meets a girl who seems to have the ability to manipulate the weather. The film has also been selected to be Japan’s entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 2020 Oscars.

The Addams Family

One of the spookiest fictional families ever, The Addams family will soon have an animated film. The voice cast for the film is pretty stacked and includes Oscar Issac, Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard, Nick Kroll, Allison Janney, and even Snoop Dogg.

Playmobil: The Movie

Along the lines of The Lego Movie comes Playmobil: The Movie, which is based on the Playmobil line of toys. Marla (Anya Taylor-Joy) and her brother are transported into a world where nothing is as it seems. The film has an impressive voice cast which includes Daniel Radcliffe, Jim Gaffigan, Adam Lambert, and Meghan Trainor.

Frozen 2

Anna (Kristen Bell), Elsa (Idina Menzel), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), and Olaf (Josh Gad) are returning for the sequel which is already expected to be a huge box office hit. The trailer shows that the film might take a more serious turn this time around as Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven leave Arendalle to uncover the origins of Elsa’s powers and save their kingdom. This much-awaited sequel will release in cinemas this November.

Spies in Disguise

Lance Sterling (Will Smith) is one of the world’s best spies and he does it all with the help of the genius inventor Walter Beckett (Tom Holland) who provides him with gadgets to complete his missions. But when Walter turns him into a pigeon as the perfect disguise, Lance goes from super spy to super fly. Spies in Disguise is set to hit cinema screens this December.
