The Kingsman headquarters in the UK have been destroyed and the ones left have to team up with an American organization, The Statesman. They will be facing a common enemy together – Poppy, played by Julianne Moore. She seems to be another fashionable peppy villain and larger than life in all the best ways – just like Samuel L. Jackson in The Secret Service.
Kingsman: The Secret Service was undeniably British, so it's going to be interesting to see how the sequel will fare with a whole new added cast of American actors. From the first film, Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, and Mark Strong will be reprising their roles as Kingsman members. And on the American side, they'll be joined by Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Pedro Pascal and Halle Berry, as Statesman agents, with each one of them looking no less stylish than their British counterparts.
The cast is stronger than ever with five Oscar winners in it, including Elton John who plays himself. Matthew Vaughn will also be directing and co-writing the screenplay, just like he did for the first film. A strong script with memorable dialogues like "Manners maketh man" and "Oxfords, not brogues" were the highlights of the first film, so we look forward to more memorable lines in the sequel.
There are high hopes for Kingsman: The Golden Circle as it's already a full-fledged franchise with Kingsman 3 already announced with Vaughn still on board as the director. If you haven't seen the trailer already, have a look here. As Eggsy says, "It looks very American." And yes, it is.
