We are currently living through a time that will be spoken about in the years to come. An unfortunate time which will be etched in our memories as something we went through globally. While this COVID-19 situation maybe an unhappy memory to carry forward, we want to take a stroll down memory lane and think of some of the happiest memories that were a part of almost everyone’s childhood. Warning: You may get nostalgic and we won’t mind if you take a quick detour to YouTube and relive some of these iconic cartoons that brought so much joy.
We’ve created a wishlist of some of our favorite cartoons that we hope will one day be made for the big screen.

Tom and Jerry

You are probably living under a rock or maybe an alien if you don’t know about Tom and Jerry. No other cat and mouse relationship can come close to being as iconic as this duo who shared a love and hate relationship. Also, who said wishes don’t come true? Word is that there is a Tom and Jerry movie which is already in the making. This live-action & animated film will be directed by Tim Story and is set to release on December 23. While we can’t wait to hear more details about this new film, here’s a clip of the cartoon to make your day.

Scoob!

This film is another one ticked off from our wishlist. It was slated to release on May 15 but has been delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. While we have to wait a little longer, at least we get a move on Scooby Doo and the rest of the gang. This movie will also take us back to how Scooby and Shaggy first met.

Dexter’s Laboratory

Many of you will probably be able to relate to this – rushing home from school, finishing your homework quickly in order to watch Dexter’s Laboratory. Remember when we had cable and had to wait for a particular time to watch a show? We told you this was going to get nostalgic. It would be incredible to watch Dexter, Dee Dee, and the rest feature in a movie.

The Flintstones

The Flintstones has been rated as the second-greatest TV cartoon of all time (after The Simpsons). It would certainly be a treat to go back in time and witness the modern stone age family Flintstones and their next-door neighbors, the Rubbles being re-created with some top-notch animation.

Looney Tunes

Do you think it would be a good idea to start a petition and get Warner Bros. to recreate all the iconic Looney Tunes characters and give us one epic movie? Also, it would be a great way to introduce iconic characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Sylvester, Road Runner, Speedy Gonzales, and others to everyone.

The Simpsons

This has been rated as the greatest TV cartoon of all time. This Fox animated television series was turned into a movie in 2007 but, there have been talks about a sequel ever since. Now, who would say no to another Simpsons movie, right? All we need to do is cross our fingers and hope that this sequel becomes a reality soon.

Rick and Morty

This is an adult animated sitcom but we wanted to include it in this list simply because it is hilarious and we could all do with a movie that follows the misadventures of mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith. If you’ve never seen this sitcom before, put it on your must-watch list. It will make your quarantine so much more fun. You can stream it on Netflix.

And now for a little more good news. Cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants and Phineas and Ferb are already in the making. In fact, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run is scheduled to release this year. Click on the interested button to stay updated about this film.
