Everything you Need to Know About Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge

Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge is the fifth and probably the final movie of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and is all set to release on 26th May 2017.

Cast: Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, Kaya Scodelario, David Wenham

It is true when they say that inspiration could be found anywhere. Who would have thought that a ride in Disneyland could inspire a billion-dollar movie franchise? You could have been living under a mountain if you haven't heard of the Pirates of the Carribean franchise. Even if you are not a fan of this swashbuckler adventure movie, there is no way you could not have felt its existence. The first movie Pirates of the Carribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) was a stand-alone movie until it earned a million dollars worldwide. A movie which had a love story set in the time of unrest with some memorable characters could not definitely go wrong.

The two movies after that were immediate sequels which were banking on the success of the first movie and Johnny Depp's popularity. The fourth film in the franchise was off the track and failed to leave a good impression on the audience. Salazar's Revenge is set to change all that. This movie draws a lot of parallels to the first movie, which is still a favorite among the fans of the franchise. There is a young man who is hunting for his father and he joins forces with a dame and a pirate as they hunt for a magical object. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? The similarity doesn't mean the story will bore you even for a second because adding to the mix of all the familiar things are the unfamiliar things. We have Salazar who is every bit a formidable villain as Davy Jones was. We also get a glimpse into Jack Sparrow's (Oops! Captain Jack Sparrow's) past with a superbly digitally de-aged Johnny Depp.

Starting with Terminator Genesys, digital de-ageing has become a thing and while the earlier attempts were rough, it has polished over time as you can see in the trailers. After a gap of almost six years, it will be a delight to see Captain Jack Sparrow return in his swaggering glory.
The movie has been shot in New Orleans and Puerto Rico. Hans Zimmer, for the first time in the history of the franchise, will not be producing the music for this movie. But his theme will make an appearance or two with a new score by Geoff Zanelli. We will have to wait and see how that turns out.
In a lot of ways, this movie is an attempt to give a fresh soft reboot to the franchise and if it works like the predecessors it might actually not be the end. So even if you have not seen the previous movies, that is no reason to miss this one. Are you excited for this movie? Tell us how much in the comments below and don't forget to share.
