Ranking the Fast and Furious Films – Worst to Best

When you think of franchises which don't seem to end. One name that always pops up is the Fast and Furious series. A series which started with an FBI agent's hunt for thieves with amazing driving skills has undergone a transformation. That can happen when the franchise passes through many different directors. Eight films in, one thing is certain nothing seems impossible for Dominic Toretto and his family. As the franchise hits the NOS button we know that this race is far from over. The franchise started as a fun film for all the street racing enthusiasts and over the years has become something else (not that we are complaining). Now that the 8th movie is out, it is time revisit the franchise and have a look at all of them ranking them from worst to best.

2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
The only movie of the franchise where Vin Diesel is absent. Probably why it is at this position. This movie had some amazing race scene. Who could forget the climax sequence with hundred of cars but it paled in comparison to the other movies of the franchise.

Fast and Furious (2009)
The fourth movie in the franchise, this was also the movie where Letty "died" putting the franchise in an emotional gear, which was lacking till then. But also like its predecessors, it failed to establish the franchise as a series.

Fast and Furious 6  (2013)
The movie is remembered for the infamous super long airstrip scene. It is also that scene that set the tone of the movies that followed with each trying to surpass this one when it came to executing impossible action sequences.

The Fast and the Furious (2001)
This movie is a throwback to the time when the series was all about fast cars and illegal street racing. When things were simple yet fun. Although we have no complaints about the turn the franchise has taken, it doesn't stop us from appreciating this one.

The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)
This movie would probably top every street-racing enthusiasts' list. This was probably the only movie that focused more on racing and cars without too many subplots. The character of Han (who died in this movie) became so popular that he got a callback in a couple of later movies.

Furious 7 (2015)
Two words: Jason Stratham. He is probably one the most loved villains of all. Although you could hate his actions you couldn't hate him, ever. He was certainly the highlight of the movie. The movie is also bittersweet because it was Paul Walker's last movie while we might not see him again, he could have gotten a better tribute.

The Fate of the Furious (Fast 8) (2017)
The latest addition to the franchise. This movie had a bit of both fast cars and those unbelievable action sequences that make you question your knowledge of science. Paul Walker was sorely missed this time but the future movies will certainly have to compete with the plane sequence in this one.

Fast Five (2011)
This movie was the glue that bound all the previous movies together and at the same time gave us Hobbs who managed to outshine Toretto for once. The family that we see now came together in this movie. And even when there will be more movies in this franchise, nothing could top this one.
