Jennifer Lopez a.k.a J-Lo, a.k.a Jenny from the block is one of the biggest pop stars since the 2000s, but it’s undeniable that her real claim to fame came with her many successful roles in the beloved genre of Hollywood romantic comedies. So, before she makes you fall in love with her on-screen once again in Second Act, let’s take a look at what the queen of rom-coms has delivered so far:

The Wedding Planner (2001)

J-Lo looked stunning and convincing alongside the equally handsome love interest Matthew McConaughey in this Adam Shankman directorial. The film was delightfully cheesy, enjoyably funny, and all-in-all a fun ride.

Maid In Manhattan (2002)

A handsome influential politician played by Ralph Fiennes falls in love with a beautiful woman who is secretly a hotel maid. This Cinderella-esque tale is everything you’d imagine it to be and J-Lo is a treat to watch throughout it.

Shall We Dance? (2004)

In this remake of the 1996 Japanese movie of the same name, J-Lo is brimming with chemistry next to the extremely attractive Richard Gere. The heartfelt film is incredibly cute and who wouldn’t love to see these two flaunt their quickstep moves.

Monster-In-Law (2005)

In the classic battle between mother and soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Jane Fonda and J-Lo predictably square off complete with plotting, meltdowns, and confrontations. It’s a typically dramatic romance meets family drama comedy.

The Back-Up Plan (2010)

J-Lo’s character in this film longs to be a mom who decides to raise a child by herself and then she meets Stan who might be the love of her life. Exactly what you’d expect from a rom-com, this film was sweet, sentimental, and harmless fun.

Jersey Girl (2004)

Although J-Lo might’ve had a teeny tiny role in this film, it deserves a mention because this sweet little romance doesn’t fail to deliver a warm hug.

So if you’re a rom-com fan that’s living under a rock and haven’t checked out these films yet, go ahead and binge before you get ready to catch Second Act in cinemas this weekend.
