Everything about Newton - BookMyShow

Newton changed his original name Nutan Kumar to Newton because he was taunted by kids in the school. He is the hope for his country. He wants to make sure that everyone is able to cast their votes and exercise their right. However, in the same region, the Maoists believe that the elections are a scam and plan on boycotting it. On the other hand, the cops are too scared to risk their lives.

Played by the National Award Winning actor Rajkummar Rao, Newton is a character of deep conviction and idealism. Rajkummar is known for pulling off complex roles effortlessly and the trailer has him nailing this one too. His character tries his best to conduct free and fair voting despite all odds going against him.

The film had its world premiere at the 67th Berlin Film Festival and received a warm response. The film won the CICAE Award for best film in the Forum Section. The film is not set to be screened in the International Narrative Competition section of the Tribeca Film Festival.

The film was initially set to release on 18th August but was later pushed and it is now slated for release on 22nd September'17
