Background & Story:
The film follows Subhash “Sarkar” Nagre (Amitabh Bachchan) post the death of his sons Vishnu (Kay Kay Menon) and Shankar (Abhishek Bachchan).

In 2009, director RGV stated that he had shelved the third installment in the franchise. However, three years later, there were reports that the script was being worked on. It was only in August 2016 that Sarkar 3 was confirmed.

In a Facebook post, RGV went candid about why he made Sarkar 3. The director said he felt he did not do justice to Bachchan’s character in the second part, Sarkar Raj (2008), and that he has consciously tried to correct that mistake.

He also spoke of how, like Sarkar and Sarkar Raj, the third installment is not only about family or social issues. He believes that the negative forces in the earlier two films are much less in comparison to those of Sarkar 3 and that calls for Sarkar to deal with them in a more ruthless fashion.

Besides Big B, the film will features other veterans such as Manoj Bajpayee (who plays the role of an activist), Ronit Roy (who is replacing Chander, played by Ravi Kale, as Sarkar's aide) and Jackie Shroff (who plays the antagonist).

The trailer of the film portrays Big B as an angrier and a meaner Sarkar. It was out in March. If you haven't seen it yet, watch it here:
