It’s got the exemplary screen presence of a legend, the prowess of a versatile actor and the charm of a heartthrob – and the three combined give you this year’s most-anticipated Telugu film, Manam. The film features actors of three generations – ANR, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya. What makes it even special is that it immortalizes the late actor Nageshwara Rao Akkineni as this is his last onscreen performance.
Helmed by Vikram Kumar, the movie has been creating buzz ever since it was first launched due to its impressive multi-starrer cast which features the veterans of the Telugu film industry. The latest trailer has created ample amount of curiosity among the audience, especially with its quirky dialogue delivery. The latest visuals of the film have also become the talking point in Tollywood. Samantha and Nag Chaitanya shall have the temperature soaring with their sultry moves in a romantic number and it looks like the duo are set to recreate the magic of Ye Maya Chesave. As for the other leading lady of the film, Shriya who is paired opposite Nagarjuna, this movie will be a comeback-of-sorts, since her last successful outing in Telugu was Don Seenu in 2010 (critical success with Pavitra in 2013).
In addition to the already glitzy starcast, Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has done a cameo in this film. His presence in the film is remarkable for one more reason, as this will be his first appearance for a Telugu film.
This family-entertainer is going to be on a collision course with the mammoth release of Rajinikanth’s Vikramasimha (Telugu version of Kochadaiiyaan). Needless to say, there will be a commotion for theatres between the two films. With less than one week to go for its release, the anticipation for this film is rising everyday. We have to wait till May 23 to watch the iconic ANR deliver his last onscreen performance.
