Main rahoon ki main nahin: To be or not to be
Hamlet, one of the most-popular tragedies by Shakespeare, is also one that has been adapted, remade, inferred and implied many times over. This year, acclaimed director, Vishal Bharadwaj is coming up with an adaptation of this classic especially made for the Indian audience and set in the dark winters, somewhere in Jammu and Kashmir. What we’re most-looking forward to is the celebrated star cast of the film that comprises the likes of Irrfan, Tabu, Kay Kay Menon, Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.

Haider’s recently-released trailer gives us a glimpse of the personality changes that the lead protagonist, Haider, played by Shahid Kapoor, goes through. This could also throw light on the effect that hunger for power can make you become. From strife to evil to insane… Haider, the film, will define an all-new era of tragedies in Bollywood. It has been a few decades since the true meaning of a tragedy was known. Perhaps, Vishal Bhardwaj is heading the Guru Dutt way? After all, Guru Dutt shall always be the lodestar when it comes to telling stories that leave you with one too many thoughts and very little to say once the story is over.
Badla – Revenge, is what sets the flavor of the film, and we’re very keen to watch how well the actor in Shahid Kapoor has adapted to the role. Evidently, the role is not just about saying your lines right but also emote and express even when you aren’t talking. As a viewer, the posters spoke volumes to me, imagine how high my expectations have gone after watching this 2.23 minute long trailer that’s got dialogues, essence and a Rock theme going on in the background.
The film releases on October 2, 2014. Watch the trailer below meanwhile and let us know what you think.
