Happy Birthday, Jennifer Lawrence

She’s passionate, natural, funny, fierce yet calm. Hollywood’s highest paid actress (according to Forbes for two consecutive years), Jennifer Lawrence celebrates her birthday today. At the mere age of 26, Lawrence has more feathers in her cap than any other actresses her age. Definitely one of the most talented actress in Hollywood, JLaw puts a lot of hard work and dedication in all her characters, which never fails to translate on the screen. And that’s not it. This American actress is also big on charity, with a philanthropic foundation of her own.

JLaw is essentially a book nerd. So she’s either reading movie scripts or books. And, if you notice, Jennifer Lawrence has mostly worked in movies that have been adaptations from YA books and comics, and all of them have been huge hits, which also won major awards. Let’s have a look at these:

Silver Linings Playbook
Based on the book with the same name and written by Matthew Quick, JLaw played Tiffany Maxwell, a widow, who promises to help Patrick (Bradley Cooper) to get back his wife if he entered a dance competition with her. Jennifer said ,"It was an initial lack of understanding of the character that attracted her to the character". But it was her spotless performance that attracted us to her. And, it was no surprise that she won The best Actress Academy Award for her performance. Out of the total 91 nominations for this film in various categories and awards, this film won 47 awards.

The Hunger Games
This Hunger Games Trilogy: The Hunger Games, Mockingjay and Catching Fire, written by Suzanne Collins, is one of the most famous YA books. And, of course, Lawrence featured in all the four films of the books’ adaptations. Her role as Katniss Everdeen showed us how strong she was physically and as well as emotionally. And this film too earned her huge number of nominations as well as awards.

Winter’s Bone
An adaptation of Daniel Woodrell’s 2006 novel of the same name, Lawrence played Ree Dolly, who bravely searches for her missing parent to protect her family from eviction. Her performance was laudable, earning her an Oscar nomination. We were introduced to her fierce spirit through this movie.

The X-Men Franchise
Lawrence starred in the X-Men franchise, which is based on a comic book series by Marvel. She played Raven Darkholme/Mystique in X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse. Playing Mystique earned her wider acceptance and she won quite a few nominations for her performance.

We wish Jennifer Lawrence a very happy birthday and we wish she brings more book adaptations to life.
