10 Bad Films With a Terrific Starcast

Disclaimer: This piece of write-up doesn’t mean to discourage the Bollywood extremist. It rather is an attempt to save many from terror attacks of tedium!

As a movie fanatic, especially a Bollywood movie fanatic, you’d want to peer into the best of Bollywood but the following article shall be full of adjectives that will defy your sense of aesthetic as you watch a particular Bollywood film the next time. Although, not all the films go haywire with their execution, but there are some films with interwoven chords that fail to appease the audience so much so that there is hardly a cinephile who remembers the film. These are the few handpicked from the lot of films that have proven to be stinkers at the Box Office. They have scarred our innocent minds incalculably. We had to lament over loss of effort and money!

This writer would humbly advice you to just let go of these films and make no attempts to watch them. However, if you do plan to watch any of these horrifying films, then let there be some spare recreational boon available to calm your senses. Amen!

Money Hai Toh Honey Hai

Neither was there any sweetness of Honey nor did the film garner much money. It was a flat-on-the-face flop! The Master of Dance Ganesh Acharya who did well for himself with choreography, went awry with this move. We did have our ever-so-flamboyant Govinda and a budding diva Hansika Motwani with ample other well-known faces (the strugglers of the Industry!) amongst its starcast, but that wasn’t what the audience was on the lookout for. The story was convoluted and foolhardy.

Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage

The Greek God, Hrithik Roshan paired with his debut heroine, Ameesha Patel. Sure many would remember this film, atleast those who love dandiya-raas. For it was purely meant for the rhythmic stick-clashes and nothing more. There was another tangent which certainly would have attracted your attention, (if you were amongst those who watched this film, that is) the asthmatic attack like heaves and sighs the leading lady seems to put-up. The bad times in her career, possibly started with this ludicrous act. This was an #epicfail from Vikram Bhatt.

It bombed at the Box Office and how! Even with sizzling starlets – Madhu Sapre, Katrina Kaif and Padma Lakshmi, the film didn’t do well even with the soft-porn loving cinephiles. Ample skin show was one slant while the other one was ugsome act put up by Amitabh Bachchan. Bachchan can get worst and this film was just a trailer to prove that. Jarring is the word that describes this gustakhi by Kaizad Gustad. After this film, we saw less of Padma Lakhsmi in films. Now she prefers doing a few cookery shows and writing cook books.

Dulha Mil Gaya

Miss Universe of 1994, Sushmita Sen “Shimmer-ed” in this film and all that we saw of her loving Husband was just a glimpse, a glimpse that was enough to dull out the otherwise hamming movie. Shah Rukh Khan was generous to give his assent for this role of Shimmer’s husband. Fardeen Khan and Ishita Sharma are supposedly the leads of the film but ‘Sush’ hushed the hullabaloo and became the center of attraction without much-ado.

If you went and watched this film with much ‘Veer’ta, you’d have had the courage to watch this film. The film that revolves around some gladiator-like avatar of Salman doesn’t prove his writing artistry. Writing might be in his genes but Salman didn’t get it right with this one. The film’s failure was evident from its trailers and it looked like an honest attempt to promote the  Katrina Kaif look-alike Zarine Khan. The film which had an “almost” make-out session shown between Mithun Chakraborty and Neena Gupta is certainly not a film you can watch with your kids!

No Problem

A film with a deceptive title is attention-grabbing but a lousy one with a much-bland story when looked at in a long-shot. The film is full of cross-connections that makes it bashful. You see a cherubic lassie para-sailing while holding a bunch of balloons! The comedy is equally synthetic. Period.

One more swashbuckling film coming from ChiChi (pun intended)! It also stars Miss World-Miss India 1994, green-eyed beauty Aishwarya Rai along with Namrata Shirodkar (now celebrated as the wife of South Superstar Mahesh Babu). Well, the film’s story is as hazy as the title of the film. It’s basically about a tour guide and his love life. But beyond that, it’s rather difficult to understand this coy film.

Love Story 2050

A futuristic approach towards romance. A well-thought of absurd concept! What with a redhead bimbette and her talking pink teddy filling the screen, you’d never want to watch such a disaster. You bet? This film’s story can make you weep more than what you did when you last saw the climax of Titanic! In simpler words, its insipid romance touted to be a sci-fi. An applause for having dared to make such a film with Priyanka Chopra and (her now ex-boyfriend) Harman Baweja in the lead.

Kisna:The Warrior Poet

A period film starring Vivek Oberoi, Antonia Bernath and Isha Sharvani. The film is set in the pre-independence era and it does look like it wouldn’t have been much success if it was to release then! A lackluster film with shoddy storyline, a single soundtrack playing in the background and Isha Sharvani doing needless, daunting, gymnastic acts!

This list is incomplete without Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag. So fierce is the impact of this film that the burns still sting. With Bachchan doing the Gabbar act, Ajay Devgn and Prashant Raj Sachdev donning the Jai-Veeru avatar respectively; gargantuan-yet-dwarved is what this film is. There is no bigger punishment than watching this film. If you wish to knock your boss right on his gut then gift him a DVD of the film!
