They say that one must love what they do and do a lot of it and well, the same logic applies to our favourite movies! When a movie does tremendously good, we end up craving for a bit more of it and our filmmakers hardly ever leave us disappointed.
Here’s a list of 10 upcoming Bollywood sequels because all good things deserve a second chance.
The sequel to MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is on the cards and Sushant will bring Dhoni back to the big screen again. The second instalment of this movie will focus on Dhoni’s life after the 2011 world cup victory and will also have elements of Chennai Super Kings to it. The movie is being produced under the RSVP ( Ronnie Screwvala’s) Banner and will go on the floor soon. Sushant has already begun his cricket lessons and an official announcement will soon be made.
The movie was certainly of India’s finest cult horror comedy and we can’t wait to see Saif as Boris on the screen again. Saif has confirmed the news and also stated that the shooting shall begin around January 2019. Kunal Khemu and Vir Das will also be a part of the project, however, the leading ladies are yet to be finalized.
Sanjay Dutt is back with a back and what could be a better way to celebrate his arrival on the big screen than coming back on it as ‘Ballu Balram’? The movie was a blockbuster in 1993 and we’re sure it hasn’t lost its charm one bit. The sequel will be produced by veteran director Subhash Ghai and will star Sanjay Dutt in the lead role. We are still waiting for the final announcements though!
4) Kaante 2
Sanjay Gupta had assembled the most amazing cast in 2002 with Kaante and he’s all set to do the same again. The film’s sequel is going to be titled as ‘Kaante 2’ and according to reports, the script is almost ready to go on the floor. Sanjay Gupta has been non-committal about the movie yet and we don’t know if the cast is going to remain the same but there are talks about Sanjay Dutt being a part of it and we couldn’t ask for me!
5) Chandni Bar Sequel
National Award Winning ‘Chandni Bar’ undoubtedly remains one of the finest works of Madhur Bhandarkar and the director is expected to bring the sequel to the big screen after 17 years after its release. The rights for the same have already been acquired and the story is said to revolve around the dance bar ban that took place in 2005. The casting process will commence soon and the movie is expected to hit the floor by year end.
This is certainly one sequel for which we can’t contain our excitement! The movie is very close to our hearts and Hirani has decided to bring Khan and his folks back on the big screen. Sharman has already confirmed the sequel and mentioned how he can’t wait for things to materialize. We can only imagine the fun and craziness the second part will bring for its audience.
Released in 2017, the movie was loved and appreciated by the audience and the critics alike leading to a much-deserved sequel. According to sources, the sequel will have a time jump of 10 years and will be directed by a different director. Saket Chaudhary directed the first part and the expectations are now soaring high as the second one is to be directed by Homi Adajania. The director and the writer of the second part believe that the objective will be to deliver something bigger and better and we seriously hope to see Irrfan being a part of this one too!
It is the third part of the comedy sequel and is being directed and co-produced by Indra Kumar. It will be the first multi starrer adventure comedy to be released in 3D. Along with the old cast, the new cast includes Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Esha Gupta. In this sequel, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit will share the screen after 17 years and this will surely be one of the main reasons why we look forward to this one.
Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal won hearts across the nation with this concept and hence we are not surprised that the makers thought of coming up with a sequel. Director Umesh Shukla has confirmed the news and also stated that work on the script has already begun. So far, there hasn’t been an announcement regarding the release but we’re sure this one isn’t going to be a disappointment.
Directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Anand L Rai along with Krishika Lulla, the movie is a sequel to ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’. The sequel will star Diana Penty along with Sonakshi Sinha, Jimmy Shergill, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhay Deol, Ali Fazal and Jassi Gill. The first part was a quirky take on a runaway bride along with a slight Indo-Pak angle and we’re hoping the second one way to be equally entertaining. The movie is all set to the hit the theatres on 24th August 2018.
