4 Major Filming Accidents In Bollywood

 Everyone thinks being in the movies is a glamorous job – especially when you play the lead role in a film. You’re pampered, you have your own vanity van, and you’re admired by fans for your performances. But, not many know about the flip side of working on a film set. Apart from performing their own stunts, stars work on sets with live wire, cranes, rough waters and sharp objects. What may come hence as little surprise is the number of accidents that takes place on the film sets, and the number of actors who have met with unfortunate accidents during shooting. You might be surprised to know of some actors who lived to tell about deadly accidents:

On July 26, 1982, Amitabh Bachchan who was shooting for Manmohan Desai‘s Coolie in Bangalore, suffered a near fatal injury on the sets of the movie. He was filming an action sequence, when he was hurt by the edge of a table. The actor had his spleen ruptured, was unconscious all the while till he underwent an operation in Mumbai. And, he miraculously survived!
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Khakee
While shooting for Khakee, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan suffered a minor mishap that could have well turned into something serious. In a scene, the driver had to speed a jeep and drive it towards her and co-star Tusshar Kapoor, and stop a few inches away from them. Unfortunately the driver lost control, and the vehicle hit them both. After administering first aid, she was immediately flown back to Mumbai from the shooting location in a helicopter and admitted in a city hospital for further treatment.
John Abraham in Shootout at Wadala
During the filming of Shootout at Wadala, a firing scene between a police officer and a gangster got a tad too real. John Abraham, who played a gangster called Manya Surve in the movie, escaped death during the shooting of the scene. Anil Kapoor, who played a cop, shot a blank bullet that was meant to be shot from a minimum distance of 15 feet, from a distance of only 1.5 feet. But thanks to Kapoor’s poor aim, the bullet grazed John’s neck, and left him with only a wound.
Akshay Kumar in Rowdy Rathore
It’s a known fact how the ultimate Khiladi, action-hero, Akshay Kumar performs his own stunts. He has also had a few close calls while shooting. The actor suffered a back injury while shooting for Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi. Akshay still suffers from bouts of pain due to that injury. The last injury he suffered was during the shooting of Rowdy Rathore in which his shoulder got injured in the scene before the climax. The shooting had to be stalled for a week for him to recover from the unbearable pain.
