5 Bollywood Choreographers Turned Directors

A Bollywood movie is incomplete if it does not have a few tacky songs with signature steps that will be imprinted on our minds till the day we die or maybe even after that. Because in the entertainment industry, nothing can beat Bollywood in coming up with some dhasu steps. Ever. All thanks to our creative choreographers, who sure know how to leave an impact on the viewers' minds with their out-of-ordinary moves that help us groove at the parties (especially, if you suck at dancing). From party numbers to wedding songs, they are the creators of all the classy steps. However, just like a choreographer needs perfection in dance steps, a director needs perfection in everything that is related to acting. And it would only be natural if the choreographers tried their luck as a director. Have a look at few of them who did so.

Remo D'souza

Gaining recognition from the dance reality show – Dance India Dance, Remo has many films to his credit as a choreographer. From giving us fun steps in Badtameez Dil in Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani to Sun Saathiya in ABCD 2, is proof enough that his choreography has always been on point. This choreographer wore the director's hat and has directed movies like F.A.L.T.U.Any Body Can DanceAnyBody Can Dance 2 and recently released Flying Jatt.

Farah Khan

Known for presenting us with some amazing latka jhatkas, Farah Khan has given us some extraordinary dance numbers over the years. She stepped in the director's shoes with the superhit film Main Hoon Na and kept walking in it with the superhit Om Shanti Om, the forgettable Tees Maar Khan and a fun Happy New Year.

The master blaster of the dance world, Prabhudeva, after directing few films in south, stepped up to direct Bollywood movies. He started with Salman Khan starrer, Wanted and went on with movies like Rowdy RathoreRamaiya VastavaiyaR…Rajkumar and Singh Is Bliing

Ganesh Acharya

Working as a choreographer since 1992 and still going strong and giving us some amazing steps, Ganesh Acharya's donned the hat of a director with movies like Swami, which released in 2007 and Money Hai Toh Honey Hai in 2008.

Ahmed Khan

Ahmed Khan has been giving us some top – notch moves since decades. Winning numerous awards as a choreographer he has also tried his luck as a director with the movies like Lakeer and Fool N Final but he hasn't been successful. There is no doubt that he has aced as a choreographer, and with him directing Hera Pheri 3, we cannot wait to see how it turns out for him.
