Bollywood has a variety of movies. There are family movies, romcoms, horror, action-masala and many more – most of which generally have a life-changing climax and that’s it. Out of numerous generic movies, the industry has also produced some gems which are entirely about plot twists. Yes, we are talking about those movies where you finally come to a conclusion about a character only to find yourself to be deceived the very next second in the most brilliant way. It takes a genius mind to think of insane stories like these and give them such drastic and unexpected turns.

We have listed seven movies below for you to go back in past and binge watch these thrillers. Also, spoiler alert!

1. Humraaz (2002)

Raj (Bobby Deol), a big shot, falls in love with a dancer, Priya (Ameesha Patel). Priya and her boyfriend, Karan (Akshaye Khanna), decide to milk this opportunity and become rich. But Priya eventually falls in love with Raj and decides to abandon the plan. However, Karan blackmails her and incites Raj against her. Raj ends up paying Karan to kill Priya but later realizes that Priya wasn’t at fault. He goes back home to find her alright but Karan now blackmails him. Serial betrayer alert.

2. Ajnabee (2000)

Raj (Bobby Deol) and Priya (Kareena Kapoor Khan) get married and shift to Switzerland where they meet another couple – Vikram (Akshaye Kumar) and Sonia (Bipasha Basu). Vikram asks Raj to swap wives but ends up fighting with him. Soon after becoming friends again, Vikram asks Raj to swap wives again. Later, Sonia dies and Raj is accused of her murder. But Raj runs away from police custody and finds out that Sonia is alive and her real name is Neeta. Sonia was Vikram’s real wife who he killed for the insurance money. Didn’t see that coming, right?

3. Fida (2004)

After making Jai (Shahid Kapoor) fall in love with her, Neha (Kareena Kapoor Khan) makes him rob a bank. She was already dating Vikram (Fardeen Khan) who actually robbed the bank on Jai’s name. Jai is chased by police and dies. He obviously comes back and creates a living nightmare for both Neha and Vikram. In a fight, Jai almost has Vikram, but Neha hits him hard in the head. Just when both of them think it’s all over, Jai gets hold of a gun and kills Neha. He also dies, BTW. Too much to handle right? Not really.

4. Aankhein (2002)

Making three blind men rob a bank was a brilliant idea. The way this movie goes one can never predict what lies ahead. Iliyas (Paresh Rawal), Vishwas (Akshay Kumar), and Arjun (Arjun Rampal) train and rob the bank for Rajput (Amitabh Bachchan). However, the game changes when Neha (Sushmita Sen), dies and all three protagonists make a plan against Rajput. A series of comebacks, finding the treasure, and a self-confession makes this suspense thriller even more exciting.

5. Gangs Of Wasseypur 2 (2012)

In both movies, the inclination of characters was pretty sorted except one – Definite (Zeishan Quadri). He was so mysteriously sketched that it was impossible to predict which side he was on. He started with the Singh family then befriended Faizal Khan. Every moment his actions questioned his loyalty towards Faizal. Only when he helped Faizal kill Ramadhir Singh one could come to a conclusion. But then he killed Faizal in the very next scene. Messed up, right?

6. Race series (2008-2018)

Race series revolved around two main characters and the betrayals they had to suffer from. It was highly difficult to make out where their loyalties lied until the very end. Characters coming back from the dead was common in both the movies too. Race series is famous for the unexpected plot twists, and they have plenty of them.

7. Andhadhun (2017)

A movie full of twists and turns, the climax scene of Andhadhun is still a debatable topic among filmy fans. Did Ayushmaan Khurrana‘s character really lose his eyesight? Did he make up the whole story about Tabu‘s character’s disappearance/death? What happened to the doctor? So many questions that are still left unanswered! The film caused a major roar in the box office as critics and audiences were spellbound by its insane plot and fantastic performances by the actors.

Love to see more insane twists? Watch out for Sujoy Ghosh‘s Badla in theatres. Inspired by the 2017 Spanish movie The Invisible Guest, this Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer has the lead pair embroiled in a court case yet again, this time on the charge of murder.
