7 Movies You Must Watch If You Liked The Trailer Of Rukh

Manoj Bajpayee is known for his brilliant performances and adapting his characters to perfection. There have been many movies that left us in awe of Bajpayee and it won't be wrong to say that those movies are known to many only because of him. Manoj Bajpayee's next is Rukh, releasing this Friday, 27th of October and it looks like a story to remember.

The movie revolves around Dhruv (Adarsh Gaurav) who is trying to find some answers related to his father's (played by Manoj Bajpayee) death. As he goes forward in his pursuit, he gets familiar with unexpected aspects of his father's life.

An intriguing story is comparatively rare in Indian cinema, however, we do get some gems once in a while. But if you like Rukh's plot, here are seven movies that you must watch if you like the story of  Rukh:

Udaan (2010)

Udaan is the story of a boy who is recently expelled from school. He comes back home only to find a half-brother he didn't know about. He deals with his abusive and authoritative father while trying to pursue his dreams and lead a normal life. He soon realizes what's happening at his home which leads him to a step against his father. 

Ugly (2013)

This Anurag Kashyap's murder mystery is about a little girl Kali (Anshikaa Shrivastava), who gets kidnapped while she is left in the car alone for a while. Her step-father Police Chief Shoumik Bose (Ronit Roy) tries to find her but the ugly blame game takes over the case for a while. With its stark narrative about naked human selfishness, Ugly is not for the weak-hearted.

Dear Dad (2016)

A coming-of-age story that revolves around the bittersweet story of a father and son who are on a road trip from Delhi to Masoorie. This trip brings in a few confessions, strangers and accidental meetings that lead up to a sweet tale of a father-son relationship.

Aligarh (2016)

Another marvel of a movie starring Manoj Bajpayee, the character of a homosexual teacher in the Aligarh university played by Bajpayee will give you the chills. The narrative of the story picturized the realities we always turn our heads from and the unconventional approach towards it made the movie a real masterpiece.

That Girl in Yellow Boots (2011)

Starring Kalki Koechlin, the movie is about a British girl Rukh who comes down to India to look for her father. She doesn't know who he is but is determined to find him because of a letter. In the meanwhile, without a work permit, she starts working at a massage parlor and gets sucked in deeper by the Mumbai's underbelly.

Talvar (2015)

Based on the 2008 double murder case of Noida, Talvar follows the story of the investigation of the case. It delivers us with more than one side of the case and objectively covers the aspects of both the murders.

Rahasya (2015)

Another movie inspired by the Aarushi Murder case, Rahasya follows the investigation of the case of the murder of a fictional character Aayushi Mahajan. A CBI officer investigates Aayushi's parents and their maid in order to determine the truth.
