Bollywood Gupshup: February 2017

In 2016, it was Akshay Kumar who gave Bollywood the first hit of the year (Airlift), and it is the same story in 2017 too. The actor starred in the sequel to 2013-released Jolly LLB and the film has grossed over a hundred crore at the box-office. Jolly LLB 2 continued Kumar’s dream run as it is his fifth consecutive hit. Rangoon fails 


Vishal Bhardwaj’s ambitious project may have impressed the critics but the audience decided to give it a miss. The film’s collections are dismal and the producers are expected to lose a huge amount of money. This came as a shock as Rangoon featured established actors – Shahid Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, and Saif Ali Khan.

Kangana Ranaut slayed in her episode on Koffee With Karan Season 5. She accused the filmmaker of being intolerant to outsiders and claimed that he suffered from verbal diarrhea. He co-star – Saif Ali Khan – looked amused as the 'Queen' made these statements. 

Sanjay Dutt's biopic shoot on in full swing 

Rajkumar Hirani wants to shoot Sanjay Dutt’s biopic in a start-to-finish schedule. The shoot is currently underway in Mumbai, and Ranbir Kapoor has grown his hair and bulked up to look like Dutt. The movie also stars Sonam Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Dia Mirza, Vicky Kaushal, and Manisha Koirala.

Badri and his dulhania promote their film


Badrinath Bansal (Varun Dhawan) and Vaidehi (Alia Bhatt) are traveling across the country to promote their upcoming movie – Badrinath Ki Dulhania. The tracks, Badri Ki Dulhania and Tamma Tamma Again, are already popular and the movie is expected to be a superhit. Our Badrinath Ki Dulhania review will be out on March 10, 2017. 

Phillauri and Naam Shabana trailer out

Both, Phillauri and Naam Shabana release in March. It, hence made sense to launch their respective trailers a month earlier. Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh have started to promote their movie and the songs are out too.
