There are quite a few iconic Bollywood films that have created a unique place for themselves in Indian cinema. Some of these cult films have been deemed sacred and it’s almost like committing a crime if you haven’t watched them. These classic films are now getting major remakes and whether you like the idea or not, you won’t be able to ignore these upcoming Bollywood movies.
Pati Patni Aur Woh
This 1978 movie featured Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha, and Ranjeeta Kaur in lead roles. The iconic laugh riot is getting its own remake starring Bollywood younguns Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday in the lead roles. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Pati Patni Aur Woh is slated to release on 6th December. Read more about the film here.
Coolie No. 1
Directed by David Dhawan, Coolie No. 1 was a 1995 blockbuster hit that featured Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. 23 years later, to commemorate his 45th film, David Dhawan is all set to remake this film with Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan. Read more about the film here.
Andaz Apna Apna
This film is such a classic that a lot of fans want it to be left untouched. However, producers Vinay and Priti Sinha are set on making this film and taking it to the next level. Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan are likely to be a part of the film and some reports even go on to say that the original film’s lead stars Salman Khan and Aamir Khan will have parts to play as well. While the plans for this film are shrouded in secrecy, we can’t wait to see what’s in store.
This 1968 film starring Sunil Dutt, Kishore Kumar, and Saira Banu was a big hit and now Sanjay Dutt is all set to remake his father’s film. According to some sources, he has his heart set on Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana with Sanjay and Govinda playing their mentors. We can also expect some unexpected twists and turns to this upcoming remake.
This iconic and hilarious film starring Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore, Amitabh Bachchan, and Jaya Bachchan is all set to get a remake by Bhushan Kumar and Luv Ranjan. This new film will feature Rajkummar Rao as Dharmendra’s character – Dr. Parimal Tripathi.
