Karan does what is expected of him, but finds himself trailed by an unearthly entity, Shashi (played by Anushka Sharma). Shashi, lived on the tree Kanan married and as part of the ritual, Kanan's family chops off the tree. Shashi, the friendly spirit, is now in Kanan's world and does not know what to do in it.

In the film, we find that it is the romance between Shashi and the character played by Diljit Dosanjh that is of central importance.
