Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is Bhumi Pednekar's and Ayushmann Khurrana's second film together, the first being Dum Laga Ke Haisha. The trailer of the movie released early this month and was received pretty well. It has hints of Vicky Donor because of the presence of Ayushmann and a similar subject line.
The film is a remake of Prasanna’s 2013 Tamil comedy, Kalyana Samayal Saadham. The movie revolves around Mudit Sharma (Ayushmann) who gets engaged to Sugandha (Bhumi Pednekar), a girl he had eyes on for some time. The marriage is eagerly awaited by the families of both the groom's and the bride's side. However, Mudit finds out that he suffers from erectile dysfunction when he gets intimate with Sugandha after their engagement and before their marriage. Now, both the families take up to solve this problem that they still whisper about while discussing.
Ayushmann Khurrana has again taken up a coming-of-age movie with a relatively untouched subject – erectile dysfunction. The trailer has a couple of visual innuendos confirming the subject. They also made sure this film will be hilarious because of the awkward communication and the older generation trying to address the issue in their own ways and mindset.
Bhumi was last seen in the movie Toilet – Ek Prem Katha and we hope she delivers it the third time as well because her character looks promising in the trailer. Three songs from the movie have been released so far – Rocket Saiyyan, Ladoo, and Kanha.
The film is slated to release on the 1st of September, 2017, so keep watching this space for our review of the movie.
