Hrithik Roshan’s new movie Kaabil is releasing on 25th of January and it will be up against SRK’s Raees at the box office. On World Braille Day, it’s only apt that we tell you all you need to know about this movie centered around a blind couple, who prove that being blind doesn’t have to be a handicap. In fact, it may even prove to be a way to go beyond normal capabilities.
Director: Sanjay Gupta
Producer: Rakesh Roshan
Sanjay Gupta has done similar movies in the past, such as Shootout at Wadala and Kaante, and Kaabil seems to be in the same vein as the other two. Kaabil is so much more than a romantic movie. From what we see in the trailers, the movie takes a dark, gritty turn for the lead couple. When the system proves to be useless in helping Rohan to get justice for what happened to his wife, he takes it upon himself to go after those who have wronged him.
Hrithik Roshan plays Rohan Bhatnagar and Yami Gautam plays the role of Sue Bhatnagar. Both are blind, but that’s no barrier in a love that transcends superficial beauty. It’s the first time that Hrithik and Yami are being cast opposite each other, and from what we see in the Kuch Din song, they also have a great chemistry on-screen. Hrithik has a history of playing challenging roles like this, with movies such as Guzaarish. It is going to be interesting to see how both Hrithik and Yami navigate this role of being visually impaired. Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy are also in the movie, both the brothers playing the bad guys.
The film already has Thalaiva's seal of approval. Rajinikanth saw the trailer in Tamil, Telugu and Tamil and loved it. Word on the street is that a special screening might also be arranged for him.
While we don’t know much beyond the basic plot, it’s certain that we are in for an exciting ride. In case you missed it, here’s the trailer for the movie:
