Rang De Basanti (2006)

This is an iconic patriotic film and this list wouldn’t be complete without this movie. Starring Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, and R. Madhavan, this movie is a modern retelling of Bhagat Singh’s story. Get ready to cry buckets as you watch this brilliant movie that is sure to inspire you.

Chak De! India (2007)

This sports drama starring Shah Rukh Khan is another film that will make you beam with pride for this country. It follows Shah Rukh Khan’s journey as a hockey coach for the Indian women’s team. Their journey to victory is emotional and inspirational.

Airlift (2016)

Akshay Kumar plays a rich Indian businessman who lives in Kuwait whose happy life is soon turned upside down when Iraq decides to invade Kuwait. He then risks his life and that of his family to partner with the Indian government to help save thousands of people who are stranded there in this thrilling and inspiring film.

Raazi (2018)

This Meghna Gulzar film starring Alia Bhatt is a brilliant patriotic film that deals with the idea of nationalism with sensitivity. In the film, Alia marries a Pakistani Major General and soon she begins to establish a channel of communication with her handlers in India where she passes on some crucial information.

Uri – The Surgical Strike (2019) 

Starring Vicky Kaushal, this movie was based on the 2016 surgical strikes that were conducted across the LOC in Pakistan’s Kashmir. This brilliant film will give you goosebumps and makes for the perfect Republic Day watch.
