Here’s how the movies performed in the first weekend –
Fanney Khan is a remake of the Oscar-nominated Dutch film ‘Everybody’s Famous.’ The movie revolves around the story of an aspiring singer from a lower-middle-class background, who must not only fight social prejudice but also manage the expensive proposition of getting ‘launched’ as a singer.
The film earned ₹2.15 crore on Friday and ₹6.75 over the weekend.
Karwaan is Akarsh Khurana’s next after High Jack. It is based on Bejoy Nambiar’s story. The movie is about three protagonists — IT guy Avinash (Dulquer Salmaan), his friend Shaukat (Irrfan) and Tanya (Mithila Palkar). They are completely different from each other and have to travel together on a road trip.
Karwaan’s box office collection improved on the second day and it managed to earn total collection to ₹4.20 crore.
Mulk is a story of a typical Muslim family who had a wayward son. Rishi Kapoor plays lawyer Ali Mohammed who has to go about reclaiming his family’s honor, lost at the hands of a wayward son. Their son is involved in a terrorist attack and they are forced to prove their innocence.
Mulk has earned ₹4 crore as it’s box office collection. The movie has received positive reviews for the most part.
