Hits & Misses: January 2017

The first month of 2017 has just ended. Now, that was fast, wasn't it? Well, it might have been, but this does not mean we did not see some amazing films. January saw the release of several hyped projects like Raees, Kaabil and xXx: Return of Xander Cage. It also saw the release of a few smaller, but interesting ventures. Like always, we bring you our list of hits and misses, which ranges from films that you absolutely cannot afford to miss to those that you could probably skip.

Let us now take a look at what our users thought were the hits and misses for the month of January.

This emotional film came as a surprise to many. It won rave reviews for its uniqueness and Hrithik Roshan's performance.

Now, does one need more reasons to watch a film that has SRK and Nawazuddin Siddiqui? Maybe not. Raees turned out to be exactly what it set out to be – intense and completely entertaining!

xXx: Return of Xander Cage
This D. J. Caruso flick was everything a Vin Diesel flick should be – it was packed with action sequences. Plus it was a moment of pride for all to watch our mastani, Deepika Padukone, add another feather to her cap.

In Regional Cinema:
We also had regional ventures that did wonders. Here are a few:
Ti Saddhya Kay Karte (Marathi), Zhalla Bobhata (Marathi), Srikanta (Kannada), Arivu (Kannada), Mumbai (Kannada), Bairavaa (Tamil), Khaidi No. 150 (Telugu), Sarvann (Punjabi), The Bongs Again (Bengali), Jomonte Suvisheshangal (Malayalam).

Some movies like Coffee With D (Hindi), Prakash Electronic (Hindi), Luckunnodu (Telugu) and The Bye Bye Man (English), missed by a tiny margin and did not do as well as the others.

That was all for the first month of 2017. Let us hope the next month is even better. See you then!
