Every actor in Bollywood likes to release his film during the festive season as it guarantees a bumper opening at the box office. Diwali, Eid, and Christmas are favorites amongst the Bollywood stars and these slots are booked almost a year or two in advance. If there is one star who doesn’t disappoint during Eid, it is Salman Khan. It has been more than a decade since we have seen Bhai releases every Eid. This time, due to the circumstances, you might not be able to see a new Salman Khan movie, but you can still do a movie marathon of his previous Eid releases.

Wanted (2009)

This is the film that started it all. Bhai’s career got a huge boost with Wanted as fans loved to see their idol in an action-packed film. Directed by Prabhu Deva, this film was one of the biggest hits of 2009.

Dabangg (2010)

Now who doesn’t love Chulbul Pandey? He is one of the funniest cops that we have seen in Bollywood films and since the character got so popular, the makers went to on create a trilogy out of it.

Bodyguard (2011)

By 2011, all the producers and directors working with Bhai reserved Eid releases for this actor. Even other filmmakers in the industry would refrain from releasing movies on this day so as to not clash with Salman. Bodyguard was his hattrick Eid release and fared better in the box office than Dabangg, which was a commercial film.

Ek Tha Tiger (2012)

In spite of being in the industry for over two decades, Salman had never worked with Bollywood’s biggest production house, Yash Raj Films. This changed when Khan gave his nod to Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger, which was backed by Aditya Chopra.

Kick (2014)

Sajid Nadiadwala is known as one of the top producers in Bollywood and Kick was the first film that he directed. Nadiadwala and Khan were friends for years so it was easy for Sajid to get the superstar on board for his directorial debut.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015)

This was Bhai’s second film with Kabir Khan. Bajrangi Bhaijaan had a heart-warming story and Khan’s character Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi won many hearts. The critics too gave it a thumbs-up. This Eid release was the second Bollywood film to earn more than INR 300 crores at the box office at the time, the first one being 3 Idiots.

Sultan (2016)

Salman Khan’s seventh Eid release had a bumper start at the box office and went on to become one of the highest-grossing Bollywood movies of the year before Aamir Khan‘s Dangal knocked it off the perch. It also starred Anushka Sharma opposite Bhai for the first time.

Tubelight (2017)

Tubelight saw Salman Khan playing a very different character. After the success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, it was natural that he would explore roles that weren’t centered around him bashing 100 villains at a go. But this movie didn’t perform that well and Salman Khan came back to the genre he knows best.

Race 3 (2018)

It was 2018 when Salman Khan took over this thriller franchise with so many twists that you might feel you are driving up a mountain. Not only was it bashed by critics, the movie wasn’t very successful commercially either, compared to Bhai’s other Eid releases.

Bharat (2019)

It was only last year that Salman Khan released a movie to rival his previous ones. The story was inspired by a South Korean film Ode to my Father and it traced the history of India through the eyes of this one man who shared his name with that of the country.
