September 2016: Best of Bollywood!

September was graced with many releases from the house of Bollywood! Of course as a cine-goer you would not have been able to watch all of them. So we are here to get you covered with all you missed last month. September was the month of drama. Many Hindi drama movies hit the theatres! And some of them even made it big at the box office. Let's pick the best of the Bollywood movies in September to watch out!

1. M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story
One of the most successful movies of the month, MS Dhoni The Untold Story released just at the end of the month on 30
th and still going good at the box office. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, this biography of one of India's most successful Cricket captains, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was very well received by both the audiences and the critics. Sushant Singh Rajput's portrayal of Dhoni was the highlight of the film.

2. Pink
Starring Amitabh Bachchan and three strong ladies, Tapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang, Pink is a gripping tale, portraying a sensitive issue without holding back on the ugly side. Coming from the stable of Shooojit Sircar who gave us gems like Piku and Madras Cafe, Pink is a must-watch film of the year!

3. Parched
Directed by Leena Yadav, Parched is a bold take on the atrocities against women in the North Western part of India. Parched won accolades at many prestigious film festivals as well. It was really delightful to watch three uneducated village women (played brilliantly by Radhika Apte, Tanishta
Chaterjee and Surveen Chawla) breaking free to live life on their own terms. We deserve more such films.

4. Banjo
Coming from the National Award Winning Director Ravi Jadhav, Banjo already created a lot of
buzz even before its release and the movie justified it. It's a full on musical film with Desi tadkaRitiesh Deshmukh is the best thing about Banjo. This was undoubtedly one of his finest performances so far!

5. Akira
Another women-centric film, Akira received mixed reviews and was an average grosser at the box office. The only reason why Akira managed to feature in this list is Sonakshi Sinha. Her
dabangg performance is the highlight of this action thriller. Sonkashi's Akira, a feisty, strong-headed, yet lovable young girl is easily her best performance after Lootera of course. Watch it just for her! That's it for September! With so many big releases lined up, let's hope October is even better for movie buffs like you and us!
