Sonam Kapoor All Set To Knock It Out of the Park in The Zoya Factor

After taking the lead in the unconventional love story Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa LagaSonam Kapoor Ahuja is back this year with yet another quirky romantic comedy. Based on the book of the same name by Anuja ChauhanThe Zoya Factor also marks the second Bollywood film of Southern heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan. This will be Sonam and DQ’s first film together and also stars Angad Bedi and Sanjay Kapoor in prominent roles. The film mainly revolves around the national men’s cricket team of India (which DQ and Angad’s characters are a part of) and the influence a young advertising agent named Zoya Solanki has on them. From the trailer of the film, The Zoya Factor seems like a lot of fun.

In a cricket-crazy country like India, Zoya Solanki was born on the day the men’s cricket team lifted the World Cup trophy under the guidance of Kapil Dev but her life has been a series of unfortunate events ever since. Now in her 30s, her relationship is over and she also stands to lose her job. She is given the opportunity to shoot an ad with the men’s cricket team, which introduces her to the serious and disciplined Nikhil Khoda. After spending a few days on her new project, it comes to everyone’s notice that every time Zoya eats breakfast with the team, they win their match even against the toughest opponents. Zoya soon becomes the team’s good luck charm and the nation’s pride. But it also leads to clashes between her and Nikhil, who are now involved in a romantic relationship, as he does not believe in superstitions or “luck”.

Now in her 30s, her relationship is over and she also stands to lose her job.

From the trailer, it’s pretty obvious that we haven’t had a movie like The Zoya Factor in Bollywood. But with a mix of cricket, comedy, and Bollywood and South’s favorite stars, the movie seems like a perfect recipe for success. Sonam seems to take the lead in this one too and even though DQ plays her co-lead, he has given her enough space to shine while holding his own ground as the no-nonsense Nikhil Khoda. Their chemistry is fresh and we can’t wait to see the romance blossom on the big screen. Angad Bedi is also given enough screen time in the trailer but the extent of his role is still unknown. Sanjay Kapoor is all set to play Sonam’s father and being her uncle in real life, we’re sure that their chemistry will flow naturally. The Zoya Factor also stars actors Sikander KherSaurabh Shukla, and Rahul Khanna in smaller roles.

We have already waited long enough for this movie and it is now all set to march into theatres on the 20th of September, 2019. A little longing never hurts and it seems like The Zoya Factor would be worth it.

If that’s not enough to get you excited, here are Five Reasons why you need to watch The Zoya Factor.
