Sultan movie - BookMyShow

Wrestling Is Not a Sport, It’s About Fighting What Lies Within

Where there is Salman Khan, there is News!

Eid is almost here and the one thing that Eid celebrations in India is incomplete without is a Salman Khan movie. Yes, this time around also, people have been waiting with bated breath for ‘Sultan’ to hit the theatres. With stills of the film having released on social platforms, Sultan is as macho as it can get and the hullabaloo around the film only just increases as the release date pushes closer.

Sultan is a story of Sultan Ali Khan a local wrestling champion with the world at his feet as he dreams of representing India at the Olympics. It is a story of Aarfa – a feisty young girl from the same small town as Sultan with her own set of dreams. When the two local wrestling legends lock horns, romance blossoms and their dreams and aspirations become intertwined and aligned. A classic tale of two wrestlers who must fall several times before they stand victorious, Sultan is a fight for life.

Salman Khan trained vigorously to achieve the lean & mean look for the film and very evidently (from the trailer), he has worked extremely hard. The film also stars Anushka Sharma as Aarfa while Randeep Hooda plays Salman Khan’s coach in the film. In a rare act for heroines of Bollywood, Anushka Sharma plays a lady wrestler and it is by far, probably the most physically demanding role of her career. Overall, the Sultan trailer promises entertainment without making any tall claims about a pitch perfect story. The makers probably know, however clichéd it may sound that this is by far the most stimulating role Salman has taken in recent times. As viewers, we hope some major twists still remains to be told.

With a lot of Haryanvi accent, wrestling scenes performed under the guidance of the fabulous Larnell Stovall and with two of the most loved actors of Bollywood, Sultan has created the hype that it was expected to create. With this upcoming Hindi movie all set to hit the theatres soon and with tickets soon being available on popular platforms like BookMyShow, it’s time once again to gear up for a full house.

Sultan believes he's got what it takes but this time, it's going to take everything he's got. Will he be able to win this war?
