Priyanka Chopra Jonas is back to Bollywood after a three-year hiatus with her upcoming biographical film, The Sky Is Pink. Helmed together by Shonali Bose, this is the director’s third film since she made her debut in 2005 with Amu and followed it up with Margarita With A Straw. This film also highlights the beautiful relationship between a mother and her child just like her previous two movies.
The Sky Is Pink is a tribute to the life of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary. This strong and brave girl suffered from pulmonary fibrosis – a type of condition that causes hardening of the lungs. Despite her condition, she went on to become a motivational speaker and even wrote a book – My Little Epiphanies. It was published one day before her death at the age of 18.
The trailer for this emotional and inspirational film has just been released and it’s already making us a little mushy. The trailer gives us a glimpse into Aisha’s (Zaira Wasim) life through her parents played by Priyanka and Farhan Akhtar. The film will follow a timeline from the time her parents fell in love to the events after Aisha’s death and how they coped with it.
Talking about the title of the film Bose said, “Your sky can be whatever color you choose it to be. For one of the characters in the film, it is pink. For another, it can be a rainbow of colors. What color is your sky? I hope every person in the audience of this film asks themselves this question.”
We can already smell a blockbuster hit with this film that is co-produced by Priyanka, Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur. The Sky Is Pink will hit the big screens on October 11. Stay tuned to all updates about this film by clicking on the “Interested” button.
