Backed by Junglee Pictures, American director Chuck Russell of The Mask fame is all set to pair up with Vidyut Jammval for his next action thriller. The film, titled Junglee, follows the journey of a unique relationship between a man and an elephant.

Vidyut Jammval is well known for his brilliant martial art skills. He also recently became the only Indian to make his way to the list of top martial artists across the globe, ranked by the international website Looper.

Junglee features this talented action hero alongside a majestic elephant named Bhola. On the occasion of World Elephant Day, exclusive stills from the film were released via Twitter.

We even got a sneak peek of Vidyut along with his tusker friend, as they spread awareness about the fight against elephant poaching and habitat destruction.

In Junglee, Vidyut will play the role of Ashwath – the son of an animal-activist who was born in the jungles of Kerala. Much to his father’s disappointment, he moves to Mumbai where he is a successful, big-shot veterinarian. Years later, he returns home where he decides to expose an international elephant poaching racket and fight against it.

Speaking about the lead actor, director Chuck Russell said, “He has a rare combination of cinematic charm and killer moves that will make him unstoppable after this film.” He also added, “I had the pleasure of creating his role in Junglee to play his style of action, supporting a positive message. I can’t wait for audiences to see it on the big screen.

Vidyut also shared his excitement saying, “Working with him (Chuck) on Junglee was like a dream come true. He pushed me to extract one of my best performances so far.

With Makarand Deshpande, Atul Kulkarni, and Pooja Sawant also starring in the film, the cinematography will be taken on by Mark Irwin. The film is officially slated to release on 5 April 2019. So watch this space for more updates and the film review.
