The trailer of this romantic drama revealed an unexpected twist in the love story, which came with the reveal of a mysterious new cast member.

Sonam Kapoor will be playing a closeted lesbian who is coming to terms with her sexuality and her conservative family in the film. While audiences are already singing praises for the film, there were still only speculations as to who will be playing Sonam’s female love interest in the film. The first trailer of the film gave us a very short glimpse of the second female lead of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. Who is she, you ask?

With the release of the film’s second trailer, we were further teased with the appearance of the popular South Indian actress will be making her Bollywood debut in this role. Regina Cassandra, who has many Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada films to her credit, will be stepping into the character of Sonam Kapoor’s love interest in this unique romance. Now that we know for sure Regina will play a part in the most unexpected Bollywood romance, fans can’t keep calm!

Regina Cassandra began her journey in the industry at just nine years old when she began hosting for a kids’ channel called Splash. She then made her film debut with the Tamil movie Kanda Naal Mudhal in 2005. In 2012, her role in the Telugu film Shiva Manasulo Shruti earned her the SIIMA Award for Best Debut Actress. With credits in over a dozen other South Indian films, she is now set to enter the world of Bollywood with Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga.
